The Art Monastery Project announces a great opportunity for an entrepreneur!
We are looking for a business partner/co-investor to run a beautiful B&B in collaboration with our art community.
Have you always wanted to run a B&B in the Italian countryside?
Have you wished that your business could have a greater impact on the world, perhaps by supporting an international non-profit arts institution?

We have an incredible opportunity with a rare low cost of entry at a 6-unit B&B on an organic olive farm less than an hour NE of Rome. You will fall in love with this idyllic location and its charming buildings, deluxe infinity pool, commercial restaurant, dainty bar, hammocked terrace, fireflies magically sparkling the evenings, and sunsets that will pierce your heart every night.
This place has been the home of the working prototype of the Art Monastery Project, a group of artists applying principles of contemplative life to professional art making. While the nearby monastery that we eventually plan to occupy is under restoration, we have been working and living here at the Casale Santa Brigida and are looking for someone to take over the potentially very lucrative business of running this B&B so that we can focus on our arts programming and grant writing.
We are interested in maintaining a small presence on the grounds and collaborating with the innkeeper on developing events, concerts, workshops, and seminars that will mutually benefit the B&B and the Art Monastery. We can provide an additional bonus to your guests, to experience part of a working arts community, as well as assisting with the maintenance of the grounds.
Your responsibilities:
- 2000€/month rent (ideally one year’s worth guaranteed at the outset
- one-time damage deposit of 2000 euro plus last month’s rent (total 4000€)
- one-time legal filing fees for filing new contract (between 500-1500€ depending on complexity)
- additional costs of running the place to be split with the Art Monastery (approximately 1500€/month)
What we can offer:
- 15 hours/week of maintenance
- use of up-and-running gorgeous property, 5 premium charming units (total capacity sleeps 13) with kitchenettes, fireplaces, breathtaking views available for you to occupy or rent out (one unit to be used by Art Monastery staff plus office)
- infinity pool, terrace with hammocks, picnic tables
- commercial kitchen with restaurant that seats 45, 2 brick pizza ovens, kitchen stocked with appliances & dishwasher, plates & utensils (Currently it is a catering restaurant for guests and staff, but it could be turned into an additional profitable enterprise upon changing its legal status.)
- bar for serving breakfast with cappuccino machine, ice machine, fireplace, snackbar, and built-in fridge
- wifi throughout the property, washing machine & dryer, parking lot
- acres of organic Olive groves, vegetable garden, 6 egg-producing chickens
- already up-and-running website & hosting (http://www.casalesantabrigida.org)
- non-profit status that circumvents enormous fees and costs associated with setting up a business in Italy (There are several legal ways to establish this relationship that would be resolved with the initial contract filing to our mutual benefit.)
- completed paperwork with utility companies, high speed wireless internet, and rental contract the landlords through April and renewable
- cooperative advertising with the BeeHive in Rome and other sites
- continued collaboration with the Art Monastery in creating events & workshops that bring in guests (huge value in availability of excellent professional artists and teachers for workshops — at a much lower cost than flying us here — in a variety of subjects including singing, permaculture, dance, yoga, meditation, painting, youth empowerment, poetry, synchronized swimming, knitting, etc.)
- potential additional income through the rental of the garage below the pool
- access to interested volunteers who would camp on the grounds and help clean, garden, harvest olives in exchange for food
- potential to create and sell your own olive oil, cured olives, fig jams, walnut liquor, jasmine essential oils, lemon verbena from vegetation on the property
