JOIN the Art Monastery Project:  Work in exchange for living at the Casale S. Brigida:

The Art Monastery Project was created by people just like you: people with a dream who woke up one day and decided to turn their dream into reality.  If YOU share the vision of the Art Monastery (or just like working hard in a beautiful place with inspiring people) and would like to spend some time here making this project happen, you are very welcome to come and work with us here.  Despite the stress and chaos of being a startup in Italy, it has been a life-changing jolt of inspiration for many people who have come in contact and worked with us here.

TERMS:  The nature of our limited resources means that we have to be prudent with allocating them to the maximum benefit.  It is also our goal to share the benefits of an “internal economy”, minimizing financial transactions and instead exchanging VALUE.  So here are are some exciting and mutually beneficial ways that you could get involved.

CREATE A WORKSHOP, RETREAT, OR EVENT:  this is a massive value add that you can bring to the Art Monastery… and have a great time getting all of your favorite people together in a beautiful location to do something that you deeply love to do.  It requires creativity and ingenuity in making this happen, but it is incredibly rewarding for everyone involved.

PROFESSIONAL WORK EXCHANGE: aimed at professional hoteliers, chefs, accountants, interior designers, and a few other specialized fields.  We are essentially happy to trade a free bed for a week or two in the Casale S. Brigida in return your professional labor or advice (whether it is done while with us in Umbria or beforehand, abroad).

OFFICE INTERNSHIPS: aimed at college students, recent graduates, and young people seeking valuable work experience in the fields of arts administration and hospitality.  Month or longer internships in which the intern must cover only his most basic survival costs and works part time in the office, leaving most of the day to enjoy Italy and your stay at the Casale S. Brigida.

WORK WITH YOUR HANDS:  for young and old alike who want to get their hands dirty and work hard instead of paying for their time in Italy.  Full room and board available for fulltime (30hr per week… 1 week minimum) campers who want to work in the garden, assist the chef, clean rooms, and maintain the pool and grounds.
